Weight Loss Surgery

You may not see the way that extra weight is affecting your child, but there are long-term health consequences to carrying excess pounds.

Childhood obesity has reached near-epidemic proportions in this country, and our Adolescent Weight Loss program specializes in the treatment of severe obesity and its related health concerns.

Our goal is to provide your child with personalized, compassionate care. We offer both nonsurgical and surgical weight loss treatments. Part of your child’s care path will also include pre- and post-treatment education, as well as ongoing aftercare.

Treatments & Procedures

For some children who struggle with excess weight, surgical weight loss may not be the first option. But if your child’s health and weight loss hasn’t improved through diet and exercise, weight loss surgery could be the decision that helps him achieve the success he’s looking for, so he can enjoy a happier, healthier and more active childhood.

If surgical weight loss is the right choice for your child, you will need to sit down with your child and his doctor to determine which type of surgical weight loss is best.

Common weight loss surgeries include:

  • Sleeve gastrectomy
  • Adjustable gastric band surgery
