Founded in 1996, the hospital was the first of its kind in El Paso, focused on providing specialized care for children. The hospital is located on The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus and is part of the network that includes some of the region’s most trusted hospitals.

As the region’s leading children’s hospital, our team is trained and specialized to treat our smallest patients in a family-centered environment with resources designed just for children.

Committed to growing and expanding specialty care needed for the children of El Paso, in 2017, we opened the first Pediatric Emergency Room committed to offering care for your child’s emergency situation with healthcare professionals trained to treat the needs of pediatric patients. We also unveiled Providence Children’s Specialty Clinic providing El Paso children with specialists trained to treat behavioral, nutritional, and rehabilitation concerns. In addition, Providence Children’s Imaging Center opened its doors offering imaging needs to pediatric patients in a child-friendly environment.

The Providence Children’s Hospital Chariot has arrived

On November 8th, The Hospitals of Providence unveiled their new pediatric specialized ambulance.  This specialty transport vehicle is monumental for El Paso – as it is not just first of its kind in our region but in the nation.  Pediatric patients in need of specialty transportation will have access to a one-of-kind pediatric specialized ambulance to provide care while being transferred to Providence Children’s Hospital.   This new critical care ambulance is considered one of the safest and most capable available in the country today. The vehicle was designed and constructed through Elite Medical Transport and will include features such as two independent patient care areas, 14 hours of continuous oxygen capabilities, spacious family seating, six clinical seats, and parent friendly crew cab. The ambulance will feature El Paso’s first driver facing dash cam, Stryker Powerload System, and FleetMatics GPS system. The drivers of this transporter have gone through extensive training to ensure complete safety of crewmembers, family and patients.
