Dr. DeVitis is originally from Seattle, Washington. After completion of his medical degree at St. George’s University, Dr. DeVitis’ surgical training took place at Spectrum Health/Michigan State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He has a passion for taking care of the entire patient, which inspired him to complete a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care Dr. DeVitis is board-certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. He has mentored many junior residents continues to instruct medical students about the fundamentals of surgery and quality patient care Dr. DeVitis was drawn to Tucson to be closer to his family who reside in the area. He performs almost all of his operations in a minimally invasive approach via robotic or endoscopic approach. He also enjoys abdominal wall reconstruction and utilizing the latest techniques to repair complex and recurrent hernias. In his spare time, he enjoys many activities including, hiking, road/mountain biking, climbing, exploring everything Tucson has to offer, and travel.

Dr. Devitis is the best. He's courteous and seems to genuinely care. He operated on me several years ago and I had a great result from that surgery. With the possibility of needing similar care going forward, I wouldn't consider anyone else.

Dr. DeVitis and his assistant Devin explained the procedure to me at his office before I went to the hospital. They also gave me written Instructions with a map the hospital area and what to do before and after the operation. The day before the operation hospital staff called me and reviewed all of this with me. It made the whole procedure easy. I thought I was going to be In a lot of pain, but I'm not. Thanks Dr. DeVitis.

Everything during my visit was great. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful. The doctor was professional and explained everything. I had completed all the paperwork on line so I only had a page to fill out when I got there. Even so, I got in and seen so quickly I had to finish it and turn it in before I left.
